چکیده

In this paper an alternaUve approach to the modelling of plates with a large number of holes is pres;nted. By means of plate theoPy, it is shown that perforated plates can be modelled by conventional orthouopic plates with modified elastic preponies. The modification of the elastic constants is derived by equalizing the strain-energy oftbe perforated and the ortholropic plate. The model oblained is then compared with previous methods and applied in the electromcchanical simulation of a silicon miclomachinod microphone structure. The microphone structures are simulated numerically, using an algorithm based on finite differences. Keywordl: Silicon microphones; Perforaled pletes; Finite differences; Eleclmmechanical simulation

On the Electromechanical Behaviour of Thin Perforated Backplates in Silicon Condenser Microphones

In this work an alternative approach to the modelling of plates with a large number of holes, is presented. By means of plate theory, it is shown that perforated plates can be modelled by conventional orthotropic plates with modified elastic properties. The modification of the elastic constants is derived by equalising the strain-energy of the perforated and the orthotropic plate. The model obt...

A High Sensitivity Polysilicon Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

This paper presents the analysis, design, fabrication, and testing of a condenser microphone utilizing a thin low-stress polycrystalline silicon diaphragm suspended above a p+ perforated back plate. The microphone is fabricated using a combination of surface and bulk micromachining techniques in a single wafer process without the need of wafer bonding. The device shows sensitivities of -34 dB (...

Thermal Buckling and Thermal Induced free Vibration Analysis of Perforated Composite Plates: a Mathematical Model

This artcile is concerned with thermal buckling and thermal induced free vibration analyses of PCPs (perforated composite plates) with simply supported edges applying a mathematical model. The stiffness and density of PCP are defined locally using Heaviside distribution functions. The governing equations are derived based on CLPT. The present solution gives reasonable results in comparison with...

Effect of Through Stationary Edge and Center Cracks on Static Buckling Strength of Thin Plates under Uniform Axial Compression

Thin plate structures are more widely used in many engineering applications as one of the structural members. Generally, buckling strength of thin shell structures is the ultimate load carrying capacity of these structures. The presence of cracks in a thin shell structure can considerably affect its load carrying capacity. Hence, in this work, static buckling strength of a thin square plate wit...

Determination of the Effective Parameters for Perforated Functionally Graded Plates with Polygonal Cutout by Analytical Solution

This paper investigates the moments and stress resultants from infinite FG laminates with different polygonal cutouts subject to uniaxial tensile load. The analytical solution used for the calculation of stress resultants and moments is the basis of the complex-variable method and conformal mapping function. The impact of various factors, namely cutout orientation angle, cutout aspect ratio as ...
